D2369 Standard Test Method
A representative sample of the coating material is collected in a container that can withstand the heating process. The sample is carefully weighed to determine the initial weight (W1). The ASTM D2369 test method involves the following steps:
| Heating Process | The sample container is placed in an oven or heating apparatus set to a specific temperature (commonly 110 ± 5°C). The sample is heated for a defined period of time (typically 60 minutes) to allow the volatile components to evaporate.
