    LLDPE (Linear Low-Density Polyethylene) is created from a polymerization process in which alpha-olefin co-monomers including butene or hexene are connected with ethylene. It polymerizes usually by gas phase or solution techniques and molecular weight distribution and branching can be done through catalysts like Ziegler Natta or Metallocene. The final product is then cooled and pelted. The resulting product is yielded after polymerization. Examples of instruments used in LLDPE production are reactor vessels and temperature, pressure, catalyst feed system, flow meters, viscometers, and extruders for quality control by tensile testers and melt flow indexers.

    • It has special melt flow features which enable easy processing.
    • Reduced density means that the products manufactured will be lighter thus making transport to another region cheaper.
    • Demonstrate good chemical resistance for long-lasting.
    • Environmentally friendly and recyclable.

    Limitations 

    • Limited thermal stability
    • Less rigid than other types of polyethylene
    • May experience environmental stress cracking
    • Joint tensile strength is lower compared with some other polymers.

    LLDPE forming techniques are similar to techniques including blown film extrusion, cast film extrusion, and injection molding.
